University/College Grant for Romanian/Canadian Student

Purpose: ORCA Student Grant is a fund focused on supporting Ontario resident students financially, but also to recognize and reward academic performance and extra-curricular activities.
Audience: College/University Students, Grade 12 Students who are planning to pursue post-secondary studies full-time and they were formally accepted by the educational institution.
Value: $3,000
Eligibility: Applicants must be an Ontario Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident in Ontario who are enrolled in a post-secondary program (College or University).
Selection:
Selection criteria will include:
– Essay: “What does my Romanian heritage mean to me” – 500 words (5 points)
– Students from low or middle-income families pursuing full-time post-secondary studies (4 points)
– Having achieved an academic standing of a minimum 70% or “B” average, during the last year (4 points)
– Employment background (1 point)
– Volunteer/leadership roles in school/community organizations and/or sports (1 point)
– Volunteer activities for the Romanian Community (bonus 2 points)
How to Apply
Students interested in being considered for this grant should submit:
– ORCA Student Grand Application Form
– Declaration and Release Form
– Essay: “What does my Romanian heritage means to me” – 500 words
– A copy of your University/College/Grade 12 transcript of marks
